Mo-doped Tungsten Trioxide Nanorod

Mo-doped tungsten trioxide nanorod may be prepared by hydrothermal method on FTO conductive glass coated with a TiO2 crystal seed layer, which adopts sodium tungstate dihydrate and sodium molybdate dihydrate as main raw materials under different hydrothermal growth conditions (at 180°C, hydrothermal growth time of 5h or 6h).SEM image of Mo-doped tungsten trioxide nanorod synthesized under different hydrothermal growth time
The microstructure, composition and electrochromism performance of the obtained WO3 nanorod at different hydrothermal growth times were studied by means of scanning electron microscope (SEM), energy dispersive spectroscopy (EDS) and X-ray diffraction (XRD). The results show:

1. With the extension of time, the average size, growth density and orientation of Mo-doped WO3 nanorod have been improved to some extent. Nanorod prepared under a growth time of 6h tends to be uniform in size, also, its growth density increased, and orientation enhanced.

2. When the growth time is 6h, the obtained Mo-doped WO3 nanorod has large optical modulation (65.3%) and high coloring efficiency (87.3cm2/C), making it possible to be applied in devices.
